Overview

Take On Helicopters: Rearmed is a project released with patch 1.06 (Downtown). It will automatically merge content from Arma 2 and Operation Arrowhead into Take On Helicopters.

Setup

Once the final patch is released, all you need to do is install the patch and run the game (provided legitimate versions of the aforementioned games are installed on your system).

Release Candidate patch

A Release Candidate patch with embedded Rearmed installer was released on the forums. Carefully read the warnings before installing!

Registry

If you do not use the -mod parameter, Take On Helicopters will load Rearmed automagically when it finds Arma 2 and/or Operation Arrowhead in the registry and everything is taken care of automatically.

You can disable/enable Rearmed in the Expansion menu from the main menu. It will deactivate/activate automatically the required dependencies to the other products.

Shortcut

This is solution to run Rearmed is an alternative to the registry loading. It is useful for launcher tools or when you want to configure the modline yourself.

Create shortcuts using the following template:

TakeOnH.exe "-mod=c:\path\to\Arma2;c:\path\to\Arrowhead;c:\path\to\Arrowhead\Expansion;c:\path\to\TKOH;Rearmed"
NOTE: Ensure paths using spaces are contained within quotation marks around the whole -mod parameter.
Examples

You can combine Take On Helicopters with:

  • Combined Operations:
"-mod=c:\path\to\Arma2;c:\path\to\Arrowhead;c:\path\to\Arrowhead\Expansion;c:\path\to\TKOH;Rearmed"
  • Operation Arrowhead:
"-mod=c:\path\to\Arrowhead;c:\path\to\Arrowhead\Expansion;c:\path\to\TKOH;Rearmed"
  • Arma 2:
"-mod=c:\path\to\Arma2;c:\path\to\TKOH;Rearmed"
  • Arma 2 Free:
"-mod=c:\path\to\Arma2Free;c:\path\to\TKOH;Rearmed"
With community mods
NOTE: You must use all the modfolders from the examples above next to the community mods you want to run.
NOTE: You must add community mods -before- the mods needed for TKOH: Rearmed.

Example

"-mod=@mod1;@mod2;c:\path\to\Arma2;c:\path\to\Arrowhead;c:\path\to\Arrowhead\Expansion;c:\path\to\TKOH;Rearmed"

So any community mods must be at the start of the line!

Beta patch

It is possible to test Rearmed in beta patches, but this will require some configuration. Keep in mind that this only applies to the beta patch, not the final patch!

Shortcut

Again: this is a temporary solution to run Rearmed in the beta patch. Create shortcuts using the following template:

Beta\TakeOnH.exe "-mod=c:\path\to\Arma2;c:\path\to\Arrowhead;c:\path\to\Arrowhead\Expansion;c:\path\to\TKOH;Beta"
NOTE: Ensure paths using spaces are contained within quotation marks around the whole -mod parameter.
Examples

You can combine Take On Helicopters with:

  • Combined Operations:
"-mod=c:\path\to\Arma2;c:\path\to\Arrowhead;c:\path\to\Arrowhead\Expansion;c:\path\to\TKOH;Beta"
  • Operation Arrowhead:
"-mod=c:\path\to\Arrowhead;c:\path\to\Arrowhead\Expansion;c:\path\to\TKOH;Beta"
  • Arma 2:
"-mod=c:\path\to\Arma2;c:\path\to\TKOH;Beta"
  • Arma 2 Free:
"-mod=c:\path\to\Arma2Free;c:\path\to\TKOH;Beta"
