Most Wikis have a type of "community place" that is used to discuss policies, general needs of the site, and to find technical as well as editorial help. This is either done at a place called Village pump or at the Community Portal. Since in our case the Community Portal is used for other purposes I combined the function of those two sections into one.

The purpose of a place like this is to improve communication between submitters, editors & administrators.

Discussions that might be of interest to lots of participants often get lost on some remote talk page, pages that are work-in-progress might get forgotten, or people willing to assist might not quite know where the most help is needed at a particular moment. So these pages are supposed to be the one central place where all those communications could come together.
