A texture is a 2D image used to define color properties for an area of the model.
In Operation Flashpoint, textures always represent color.
In Armed Assault, texture can contain varied data, including normal maps, specular maps, ambient shadows, or specific lighting information. See Armed Assault: Texture Naming Rules for more information.
