The Chernarussian Defence Forces (CDF) are the combined military forces of the Republic of Chernarus. In 2009, the CDF was involved a civil war against various warring factions, such as the ChKDZ, a communist revolutionary organization, and rebels from NAPA, a political party within Chernarus. During the 2009 Chernarussian Civil War, various warring factions wanted to overthrow the young and fragile Chernarussian democracy. Before the United States of America supported the CDF with its military forces, the CDF had a long list of battles with the insurgents.

Overview

The average Chernarussian soldier wears uniforms and utilizes equipment from that of the former Soviet Army. Like the Soviets before them, they wear an individual camouflage smock. Most of the CDF's weapons were acquired from former Soviet military stockpiles, back when Chernarus was a republic of the Soviet Union. The Chernarussian government had tried to update the CDF with newer equipment several times in the past.

United Nations Peacekeeping Operations

In ArmA II: Operation Arrowhead, the Chernarussian Defence Forces send UN troops to Takistan. The camo of their helmet turn to blue with UN letters. They use their own vehicles which were painted in white color.
