In Autumn 2009, the CDF was involved a bloody civil war against various warring factions, namely the ChDKZ, a communist revolutionary organization, and occasionally, rebels from NAPA, a political party within Chernarus which turned to an armed campaign. During the 2009 Chernarussian Civil War, various warring factions wanted to overthrow the young and fragile Chernarussian democracy. Before the United States of America supported the CDF with its military forces, the CDF had a long list of battles and engagements with rebels from the ChDKZ.
