Introduction
Project: UK Forces (UKF) is a team dedicated to creating addons that represent the personnel and equipment of the armed forces of the United Kingdom, within OFP: Resistance and more recently it's successor Armed Assault. They pride themselves on the accuracy of their addons, sourcing a large team of ex and current service advisors to aid them.
History
UKF was founded in November 2002 by Bibmi, Marsuitor, Vade_101 and Viking (all now retired from UKF). These four set about bringing realistic UK forces to the world of Operation Flashpoint using the newly released Oxygen tools. Soon after, Deliltmon and Jonno were to join the team (also now retired). Over the years these original members, boosted by the recruitment of many of the current members, started creating the basis of what UKF is today.
Operation Flashpoint: Resistance
Project UK Forces have now ceased project work for Operation Flashpoint and have moved on to Armed Assault. We aim to improve on our work from OFP to begin a new level of quality of British addons. Below you can find links to the projects we released to the community for OFP.

Armed Assault
Introduction
With the release of ArmA and subsequently the ArmA tools, we're making progress with content for Armed Assault. Rest assured that the entire team is extremely excited about the prospects of the ArmA Engine and scripting, and we've begun taking early steps towards our first few planned releases.
Obviously there will be a period of 'overlap' as the team becomes accustomed to the new engine: its strengths, weaknesses and how we can use it to the best of its abilities; similarly to how Operation Flashpoint was stretched considerably beyond its original scope. We'll aim to start showing content once we're able to do so.
The transition to Armed Assault has allowed the team to reassess its working arrangements with other addon groups. Primarily, P:UKF has taken this opportunity to consolidate its long-standing affiliation with RKSL Studios in a way that will see knowledge and resources shared between the two teams for their mutual benefit. We hope this arrangement will result in better integration between the addons representing British ground forces produced by UKF, and the British air and naval assets that RKSL focuses on developing.
Vacancies
UKF has plans to greatly expand its team with the move to Armed Assault, to allow us to work on a wider variety of projects at the same time. This will free up the time of many of the current core developers to concentrate on specific projects, and also allow those projects deemed less 'valuable' to be worked on. With this in mind, we are looking to expand the team in the following areas:
- Addon Developer - Must be skilled in all aspects of 3D modeling and 2D artwork. Config writing is an added bonus, but not a necessity. We are particularly interested in applicants who have particular skill with avatars (soldier models and textures).
- Texture Artist - Whilst 3D models are easy and quick to create, Textures are one of the main drains on resources and time with regards to addon making. Applicants must be skilled in 2D artwork, and understand how Diffuse Mapping, Normal Mapping and Specular Mapping work with regards to the Armed Assault engine.
- Scripter - An excellent grasp of the Armed Assault scripting language is required, with the abilities to also create innovative and new additions for the UKF addons to utilise. Examples of such would be UKF's bayonet scripting, the first Flashpoint addon to have this ability.
We have no issues with potential applicants who wish to, or currently work for other addon teams. Some of our current developers work for several addon teams and this has never been an issue for UKF. Potential applicants should have a good grasp of English and be passionate about their work. Examples of previous work are essential!
