Ok, my first tentative steps at editing a Wiki page.

About

Along with the playing Operation Flashpoint developed by BIS. My main interest is anything to do with scripting OFP. Over the years I have tried to develop scripted systems for some of the excellent third party Addons, developed by like-minded fans of OFP.


While I'm always happy to assist, if I can, anyone working on OFP Missions and Addons. I tend to gravitate towards relatively complex systems that allow multiple Addons to work together in game.


My ultimate goal is to produce all the required addons that are not currently available in OFP\Arma. To build a large, persistent battle field. Allowing at least two players to wage war over Air,Land & Sea in Multi Player. These two opposing nations will have all the resources and facilities you would expect from technologically advanced countries. Well I did say I like complex systems.

I think it's a worthy goal to aim for, just don't expect it any time soon :-)

These are my own, pet projects for Armed Assault:

AI Air Traffic Control Addons

I've been experimenting with AI aircraft for a while, trying to get them to land and take off from a variety of different runways. I managed to get what I was after, some time back, but it still required a load of scripting to use them in a mission. So I put together this system, it does not live up to it's title of Air Traffic Control as yet. But it does form the bare bones.

Thanks to Armed Assaults new scripting commands, I should be able to fix some of the problems I encountered.

AI Forward Observer & Indirect fire Addons

AI Forward Observer capable of calling in indirect fire over a predefined area. Observers have the same eyesight quality as Snipers, with the added advantage of using Binoculars more effectively than regular AI, in the role of static observation. This provides them with an enhanced detection ability of about 1000+ meters (depending on terrain and target type), while keeping within the confines of the game engine itself.

Thanks to Armed Assaults new scripting commands, I should be able to fix some of the problems I encountered.
