Take On Helicopters: Rearmed is a project released with patch 1.06 (Downtown). It automatically merges content from Arma 2 and Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead into Take On Helicopters.

Key Features

  • Sceneries – Chernarus, Takistan, Utes, and others
  • Vehicles – tanks, cars, motorcycles, fixed-wing airplanes, helicopters*, boats, and lots more
  • Weapons – rifles, machine-guns, shotguns, sidearms, launchers, artillery, explosives, and tonnes more
  • Characters – soldiers, marines, guerrillas and civilians

Known Issues

  • Applied the RC patch to your Steam version? Simply verify the game cache and let it 'repair' your game to the very latest version [1]
  • "No entry'config.bin/CfgInGameUI/MPTable.shadow" (on start-up) - try patching A2 & OA to the latest versions [2]
  • Run A2 and / or OA at least once (Steam version) to ensure it is configured for Rearmed
  • Premium DLC from Operation Arrowhead (BAF, PMC, ACR) is not supported (only lite data is loaded) (see CIT #30243 (dead link))
  • PMC lite still visible (Operation Black Gauntlet in campaigns) (see CIT #53057 (dead link))
  • Missing pilot start-up voices (see CIT #30366 (dead link))

Setup

All you need to do is install the patch and run the game (provided legitimate versions of the aforementioned games are installed on your system).

Loading from Registry

If you do not use the -mod parameter, Take On Helicopters will load Rearmed automagically when it finds Arma 2 and / or Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead in the registry and everything is taken care off automatically.

You can disable / enable Rearmed in the Expansion menu from the main menu. It will deactivate / activate automatically the required dependencies to the other products.

Shortcut

This is solution to run Rearmed is an alternative to the registry loading. It is useful for launcher tools or when you want to configure the modline yourself.

Create shortcuts using the following template:

TakeOnH.exe "-mod=c:\path\to\Arma2;c:\path\to\Arrowhead;c:\path\to\Arrowhead\Expansion;c:\path\to\TKOH;Rearmed"
NOTE: Ensure paths using spaces are contained within quotation marks around the whole -mod parameter.

Examples

You can combine Take On Helicopters with:

  • Combined Operations:
"-mod=c:\path\to\Arma2;c:\path\to\Arrowhead;c:\path\to\Arrowhead\Expansion;c:\path\to\TKOH;Rearmed"
  • Operation Arrowhead:
"-mod=c:\path\to\Arrowhead;c:\path\to\Arrowhead\Expansion;c:\path\to\TKOH;Rearmed"
  • Arma 2:
"-mod=c:\path\to\Arma2;c:\path\to\TKOH;Rearmed"
  • Arma 2 Free:
"-mod=c:\path\to\Arma2Free;c:\path\to\TKOH;Rearmed"

Community mods

NOTE: You must use all the modfolders from the examples above next to the community mods you want to run.
NOTE: You must add community mods -before- the mods needed for TKOH: Rearmed.

Example

"-mod=@mod1;@mod2;c:\path\to\Arma2;c:\path\to\Arrowhead;c:\path\to\Arrowhead\Expansion;c:\path\to\TKOH;Rearmed"

So any community mods must be at the start of the line!

Beta patch

It is also possible to use Rearmed with beta patches, but this will require some configuration. Keep in mind that this only applies to beta patches - not full patches!

Loading from Registry

If you do not use the -mod parameter and load the beta patch with -beta=beta, Take On Helicopters will load Rearmed automagically when it finds Arma 2 and / or Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead in the registry along with the Take On Helicopter beta patch and everything is taken care off automatically.

Shortcut

Again: this is a temporary solution to run Rearmed in a beta patch. Create shortcuts using the following template:

Beta\TakeOnH.exe "-mod=c:\path\to\Arma2;c:\path\to\Arrowhead;c:\path\to\Arrowhead\Expansion;c:\path\to\TKOH;Beta"
NOTE: Ensure paths using spaces are contained within quotation marks around the whole -mod parameter.

Examples

You can combine Take On Helicopters with:

  • Combined Operations:
"-mod=c:\path\to\Arma2;c:\path\to\Arrowhead;c:\path\to\Arrowhead\Expansion;c:\path\to\TKOH;Beta"
  • Operation Arrowhead:
"-mod=c:\path\to\Arrowhead;c:\path\to\Arrowhead\Expansion;c:\path\to\TKOH;Beta"
  • Arma 2:
"-mod=c:\path\to\Arma2;c:\path\to\TKOH;Beta"
  • Arma 2 Free:
"-mod=c:\path\to\Arma2Free;c:\path\to\TKOH;Beta"
