==Structure and Organisation==
Our unit's structure is constantly expanding as our membership grows. Promotions are earned and can only be attained if the position is available. You will not see a top-heavy squad with ten Generals. The 16AA prides itself on it's meaningful and practical structure.

There are more ranks in the British Army, but as the 16AA will never use them they are not listed here.

==Formation==
The 16AA was formed on the 29AUG07 by ten people in an effort to create a realistic online unit.

== Recruitment Process ==

==Recruitment Process==
16AA has a formal recruitment and training process which all new applicants must pass through in order to attain the rank of Private. This procedure is the result of years of refinement and is intended to ensure that the unit only accepts members who will maintain its high standards and who are proficient at the basic skill set 16AA uses in its combat operations. It is also designed to make new recruits familiar with as many members of the unit as possible and gives all current members the opportunity to be involved with the assessment of new recruits.
There are several steps to the recruitment process, which has been adapted and changed over the years we've been operating as a unit, to ensure that we get the right sort of people as members.

===Application===
The recruitment process has the following stages:
The first step is to submit an application to the unit in the enlistment area.  Once a member of the recruiting office approves it you will be scheduled for an interview.

===Interview===
* Application: The first stage of application to 16AA is for a candidate to submit an application to the enlistment area of the 16AA website. An application requires the candidate's full name, date of birth, and nationality. 16AA does not accept anonymous applications or applications from people under the age of 18.
The interview will last about 30 minutes during which we will attempt to get a feel for your character. If you pass your interview you your application will be Approved and you will progress to our Recruit Training program.
* Interview: 16AA conducts an interview on Teamspeak for every new applicant. The purpose of this interview is to feel out the candidate and to give the chance to ask questions of the interviewer to ensure that 16AA is the correct unit for them.
* Recruit Training: 16AA runs a Recruit Training Programme (Phase 1) designed to bring a recruit's gaming skills and understanding of the unit's tactics and procedures up to a basic level of competency that will allow a recruit to operate within a 16AA section as a Private.

===Recruit Training===
The recruit training program runs over a series of sessions (on Monday and Wednesday evenings).

====Phase 1====
== Company Training ==
This phase is a short session on teamspeak to familiarize the new recruit with how the 16AA operations, both in game and on the forums.

====Phase 2====
The 16AA hold company-wide Home Rotation Training between every Campaign. These HRs make the company ready to step off with the skills required for the next Campaign.
This phase consists of the following subjects Contact Drills, Formations, Basic FIBUA, Defensive Theory, along with several others.  It is essential that every recruit that passes knows how the unit operates as a whole an what their role is in any position on an op.

==Company Training==
The 16AA runs a number of company training sessions each week these include; practicing different tactics; running courses for our membership (Signals, JNCO/SNCO, Flying, Recon, Weapons, Map Reading, etc).

All of which bring the unit together to run in a more realistic and streamlined way when on op.
