hello Kronzky

i have to add you a thought here, based on:

http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Talk:setVariable

"Hellooooo... This is a Wiki, not a forum, in case you people forgot."

maybe i am wrong, but i can see a VERY important discussion here going.

what is the reason to stop it?

its the best place to do it. everyone can participate, everyone can see it.

even the developers think its important.

so keep cool mate --WGL.Q 19:59, 15 August 2006 (CEST)

:I agree that it's a very important and interesting discussion, and that's exactly why a command's talk page isn't the best place for it.

:Talk pages aren't designed to handle lots of traffic. They are purged frequently to make room for new discussions, and at that point - unless sombody incorporates the result of the discussion into the article - all those interesting arguments will basically vanish.

:The main purpose of a Wiki is to present information, not to discover it. Forums are much better suited for those discussions, since they have navigational and search mechanisms, and are preserved for a long time. (None of which applies to Wiki talk pages.) --Kronzky 20:26, 15 August 2006 (CEST)

::BIS Forum isnt the place for it - only here decent people still like to talk as the wiki scares the public crowd off.

::This is probably still a topic for the release version of ArmA. The topic will hopefully (at least partially) become obsolete with the ArmA release or a future patch.

::One can make exceptions for the sake of usefulness, right? --WGL.Q 21:44, 15 August 2006 (CEST)

:::Hmm.. for once I agree with Kronzky. :p <br>This is better suited elsewhere but we all know this will not continue on the BI forums and if it did, would be invaded by the general public. What might be better is a page dedicated to explaining use of MP variables in ArmA once it is released. Could you leave the discussion till then? Some of this is extremely relevant and important --CrashDome 23:40, 15 August 2006 (CEST)
