Could you please explain when one might need to send 2 or more playsound commands at once to increase the volume? There is a param in config to set the volume of the sound sample, also there is an alternative command, playsound3d that has volume control. Hey I'll add an additional note on the page, but what you are doing by spamming the sounds is you are effectively amplifying the sound in terms of volume to other sounds in the engine (making it louder) and the volume parameter in the existing commands deal with the fade volume of the distance, meaning that the higher you turn your "volume" up, the longer the sound travels before it fades off (think of it as a plateau and steep drop as you reach the distance stated) the "volume" parameter does not dictate effective volume heard. If you spam the sound command, not only will the effective volume be raised but the distance will be adjusted accordingly as the distance mechanic works off of decibels. (derp bohemia)

::Are you talking about sound overdrive? I think your note is valid but the suggested practice is questionable especially as you say yourself is unreliable. I think it is better to make it shorter, for example "executing the same playsound command in quick succession will amplify the sound". I don't think it needs any more explanation. re playSound note

Could you please explain when one might need to send 2 or more playsound commands at once to increase the volume? There is a param in config to set the volume of the sound sample, also there is an alternative command, playsound3d that has volume control. Killzone Kid (talk) 10:44, 28 December 2014 (CET)

Are you talking about sound overdrive? I think your note is valid but the suggested practice is questionable especially as you say yourself is unreliable.
