Welcome to the OAC replacement addon page.

This page is part of the OAC project.

To further enhance the experience the OAC releases replacement addons from time to time.
This page is meant to give an overview about the available replacements.

Definition

A replacement addon is using some 3rd party addon to replace the look of a different unit.
At times the sound and gameplay related aspects are replaced as well.

Installation

Preface

NEVER ever put addons (pbo files) in the ArmA\addons folder!

You can only have one replacement addon active for a specific unit at a time.
In other words a T72 tank can only have one model at a time. Sounds logical.

You can understand what unit is replaced by looking at the naming of the pbo.

OAC_R_AH64_MAP_Air

OAC is the addon tag. The R tag stands for replacement file. AH64 means the unit.
So the part after OAC describes the unit.
The rest is the addon (pbo name) the replacement is based on.

Instructions

1. You need to download both the replacement addon(s) and the OAC replacement addon(s)
via the OAC YomaTools server.
Refer to the Download and play guide on the OAC project BIKI page.

2. To be able to get the replacement addon working you need to download the
required addon the replacement is based on.
You find a list of the available replacement addons and their required addons below.

3. Move the desired replacement addon from #notInUse to one level higher.

.\ArmA\addons\x\oac_replacements\addons\#notInUse\OAC_R_AH64_MAP_Air.pbo

to

.\ArmA\addons\x\oac_replacements\addons\OAC_R_AH64_MAP_Air.pbo

4. Once you have downloaded the required addon(s), put the PBO(s) in the

.\ArmA\addons\x\oac_replacements\addons

folder and load the modfolder as well.

Replacements without OAC

Most replacement addons are based standard arma classes and can be used for
regular arma missions as well.

Download the replacements via the HTTP download from above, get the
ofp_compatibility_addon.7z and the needed base addons in addition to each replacement
and load them via modfolders.

For people with basic config or logic understanding, the replacements made
for OFP classes are very simple to update to similar arma classes,
like AH64 to AH1W.
Most times its only removing one level of inheritance or renaming the classes basically.
