The Russian Ground Forces represent the Russian Federation in ArmA II.
Overview
The Russian Ground Forces are reluctantly allied with the Chernarussian Movement of the Red Star (ChDKZ). After the ChDKZ rebels lose most of their power during the 2009 Chernarussian Civil War, the Russian Federation invades the South Zagoria region of Chernarus in a United Nations-backed "peacekeeping operation" to assist the ChDKZ rebels. In ArmA II, Russian soldiers wear Flora pattern camouflage uniforms and use updated versions of old Soviet military weaponry and equipment.
History
The Russian Ground Forces were formed out of the remnants of the Soviet military in 1992, shortly after the collapse of the Soviet Union in December 1991. The Russian Ground Forces took posession of the old Soviet military equipment inside the former Russian SFSR and since then, they've tried to update them to modern standards.
