CWR2 - National Peoples Army
Introduction
The CWR2 Addon National People's Army of the GDR was released in May 2015. It contains East German soldiers and equipment around the year 1985.
History
The National People’s Army was created on March 1 1956, six months after the formation of the West German Bundeswehr, from the Kasernierte Volkspolizei (Barracked People's Police). In the first time the East German Army had no conscription til 1962. Some uniform traditions were overtaken by the Wehrmacht, the structure and doctrin was influenced by the Soviet union. Most the material wa from there only some cars and trucks were made by GDR. Two times (CSSR 1968/Poland 1981) the NVA was ready to intervene or support soviet troops. The field combat dress in the first time the BlumentarnmusterFlächentarnmuster (faceted camouflage pattern) and from 1965 on the Strichtarnmuster (rain drop pattern). The weapons were license built AK 47 or since 1985 AK 74 with own handgrips/butt stock. In 1990 the NVA was overtaken by the Bundeswehr during the German reunion. Some vehicles were some years in use by the new army like thie MiG-29.
Requirements
Cold War Rearmed² is required for this Expansion, this is not a standalone addon. ARMA 2: Combined Operations (ARMA 2 + Operation Arrowhead) v1.62 is required to use the Cold War Rearmed² Modification.
