Template:Infobox AFV The A-10 Thunderbolt is the first aircraft in the United States Airforce designed exclusively for Close Air Support. It was designed to meet an USAAF requirement to provide close air support for ground forces by attacking tanks, armoured vehicles, and other ground targets. The aircraft also has limited air interdiction capability.
