Array - An array with all units in the vehicle is returned.

The crew command will only return a single gunner. If the vehicle has occupied, multiple turrets. See this discussion on the official forums, for an alternative: Need an array with a vehicle's cargo units

The crew command will return an empty array if the object has no crew - this includes objects that can't hold crew. If used on a man or module it will return an array containing that object.
